What is The Syllabus For The NMAT Test 2024?

Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test, commonly known as NMAT is the entry-level examination held every year. This national-level exam allows candidates to be admitted to the Postgraduate (PG) courses such as PGDM and MBA offered by the top business schools including NMIMS University. The NMAT exam is conducted by the Graduate Management Aptitude Council (GMAC). Candidates who qualify for the NMAT can not only get admitted to B-school across India but also 4 other neighbouring countries which include Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka.

 It has been anticipated that the NMAT 2024 will take place the second week of October this year. In addition to this, the registration window to apply for NMAT 2024 will also open by the 1st week of August 2024. However, to appear for the test, the candidate must register on the official website of NMAT which is mba.com/exams/nmat.  

Syllabus For NMAT 2024

The mode of exam opted to take the NMAT 2024 is online. The duration of the test is 2 hours. During this time, the candidates have to answer a total of 108 questions. These questions are further divided into three sections of 36 questions each. The sections consider of Logical Reasoning, Language Skills, and Quantitative Skills. Hence, to score the maximum marks, a candidate should properly evaluate each of the sections.  These sections are based on reviewing the candidate's proficiency in the English language, understanding of basic mathematical concepts, and their ability of problem-solving and critical thinking.  Highlighted below are the sections that are covered in the syllabus for NMAT 2024:

1. NMAT Syllabus for Logical Reasoning 

The section of Logical Reasoning contains two sub-sections: Logical Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning which in total include 36 questions. As per the 2024 NMAT syllabus, this section has been curated to assess the candidate's excellence in logical thinking, reasoning, and decision-making choices.  Given below are the topics that will fall under the subsections of Logical Reasoning for NMAT 2024: 

a. Logical Reasoning 

The Logical Reasoning contains the following sub-topics that a candidate needs to prepare well:

  • Analytical Reasoning

  • Series and direction questions
  • Blood relation questions

b. Verbal Reasoning

The topics that will fall under the verbal reasoning sub-section are:

2. NMAT Syllabus for Language Skills

This section helps analyse the ability of a candidate to solve mathematical problems on a variety of topics. Distribution of Marks for NMAT Test 2024 

The NMAT test 2024 contains 3 sections each containing 36 questions. The marks that are allotted for each section also remain the same.
